THE STORY BEHIND THE MISSION
Since 1964, the Missionary Aviation Repair Center (MARC) has been giving wings to Alaska missions. Alaska is one of the most rugged and remote places on earth, with more than 230 villages that have no road access. MARC uses aviation to serve pastors, missionaries, churches and other Christian organizations in these hard-to-reach places — flying people and supplies where there are no roads, maintaining ministry aircraft, and training missionary-minded pilots and mechanics.
MARC's Hospitality Ministry is a key part of that work. Their guesthouse in Soldotna, overlooking the Kenai River Flats, provides rest and housing for pastors, ministry teams, candidates and volunteers — a practical way to “Contribute to the needs of the saints and seek to show hospitality” (Romans 12:13). The main lodge sleeps up to 12 and has become a hub for fellowship, but it lacks outdoor space to host larger groups. Our team will build a large deck off the back of the guesthouse so MARC can host larger gatherings of missionaries, ministry partners and their families for years to come.

OVERVIEW OF ACTIVITIES:
This service project focuses on building a large deck off the back of MARC's hospitality/missionary housing in Soldotna, Alaska so they can host larger ministry gatherings.
During this trip we will:
- Build and finish a large deck on the back of the MARC Guesthouse
- Work side by side with MARC staff and missionaries
- Share meals and fellowship with the MARC team
- Enjoy the beauty of the Kenai Peninsula

What To Expect
Our team will stay on-site at the MARC Guesthouse in Soldotna, overlooking the Kenai River Flats. A typical day includes breakfast, morning devotions, working on the deck project until late afternoon, and evenings of fellowship with MARC staff and missionaries.
What to Bring
- Bible
- Bath: bath towel, soap, shampoo, toothbrush and toothpaste, personal items etc.
- Clothes: work clothes, layered clothing (jackets, sweaters, etc.), work gloves, rain gear. A washer and dryer are available on site.
- Shoes: work boots for the job site, comfortable shoes for around the property
- Other: camera, water bottle, hand sanitizer, bug spray etc.
