Child Sponsorship

Helping Hands International supports more than 250 students across Kenya through our Child Sponsorship Program — providing school fees, uniforms, daily lunches, tutoring, and Bible studies. Your $38/month directly impacts a child's life: meeting essential needs, offering stability, and helping them grow physically, emotionally, academically, and spiritually.
The program started in 2016 with a handful of children in Rakwaro, Kenya. It expanded in 2021 to Kawangware — a Nairobi slum — through our partnership with The Watumull Family Children's Fund, and again in 2022 to rural Kakamega through our partnership with Amati Child Development Center's Orphan Care. Today, sponsorship reaches children across all three communities.
Day-to-day care is led by 9 Full time and 7 part time local Kenyan staff and one long-term missionary on the ground, providing daily oversight, discipleship, education support, transportation, and love for every child in the program.
Sponsorship doesn't end at high school graduation — for students who finish secondary school, it can continue into college or trade school, giving them a pathway to long-term stability and purpose (see our College & Trades program).
